The VIII scientific-practical conference with international participation “Perspectives of Diagnosis and Treatment of Hematologic Diseases” was held in Kyiv on April 27-28, 2018, during the 32nd anniversary of the Chornobyl disaster

The VIII scientific-practical conference with international participation “Perspectives of Diagnosis and Treatment of Hematologic Diseases” was held in Kyiv on April 27-28, 2018, during the 32nd anniversary of the Chornobyl disaster

The conference was attended by the Head of the European leukemic network ELNet prof. R. Hehlmann (Germany), Head of the Hematology Clinic in Madrid Prof. H. L. Steegman (Spain), Head of the Transplantation Department N.Melanovich (Belarus), Prof. Liangmin Ma, Yang Yao and Xiaofang Dai (People’s Republic of China) and about 100 hematologists from the oblasts of Ukraine


The meeting was opened by the report of the Director General of the NRCRM Academician of the NAMS of Ukraine Bazyka D.A. “Investigation of the features of hematological neoplasia in the victims of the accident at the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant”.

The strategy of diagnosis, treatment and management of complications in patients with chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) from the treatment with inhibitors of tyrosine kinases (TKI) was the subject of discussion at the first section of the conference. R. Hehlmann highlighted the current state of CML treatment in Europe and the United States and separately focused on the tasks facing the hematologists.

H. L. Steegman demonstrated the achievements in the treatment of complications from TKI therapy.



The report “Evaluation of the effectiveness of therapy with tyrosine kinase inhibitors in patients with CML in Ukraine” (I. Dmytrenko on behalf of the group of authors) caused active discussion by the participants of the meeting


On the subsequent sections of the conference there was a presentation and discussion of the effectiveness of treatment of patients with CML in Ukraine, the possibility of registration of new drugs; diagnosis and treatment of chronic myeloproliferative Ph-negative diseases; modern aspects of diagnosis and treatment of chronic lymphoproliferative diseases with the presentation by pharmaceutical companies of their development; diagnosis and treatment of aplastic anemia, myelodysplastic syndrome; antibacterial and antimycotic therapy in hematological practice.

The second day of the conference was dedicated to the diagnostics and treatment of immune thrombocytopenia, Chinese colleagues shared by their experience.

A lively discussion among the participants of the conference aroused the report of prof. Yu.V.Davydova on the basis of the experience of pregnancy management in women with oncohematological diseases.
